ISTAT's annual end of year celebrations will continue in Dublin, London, New York and Tokyo on Wednesday, 1 December.ĭue to many unknowns in 2021, we will be cancelling our NFL Playoff Party and the Chinese New Year celebration. ISTAT Americas will move from March to 14-16 November and change locations to the JW Marriott Austin. ISTAT EMEA is scheduled to take place in its regular format at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre 3-5 October. The ISTAT Latin America Forum date is forthcoming, but expected to take place in the third quarter of the year in Mexico City, providing the community a safe opportunity to connect in person. ISTAT Asia will transition into regional offerings in 2021 that will take place in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The event will feature group meetings, small group discussions on key industry issues, as well as opportunities for socially distant, outdoor networking activities like golf. This new, members' only event will take place in Miami, USA in April 2021. We are hopeful that we might once again enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members in the new year. While there are still many unknowns for event gatherings in the year ahead, we look forward to providing as many safe opportunities for the ISTAT community to connect as possible. In the meantime, ISTAT is pleased to announce plans for 2021 in-person events. We will continue to keep you apprised of any important updates. ISTAT holds several events each year, giving members the opportunity to network and share knowledge relevant to the industry. Each ISTAT member, who has satisfactorily demonstrated that he or she is qualified to appraise airline transport aircraft, has been granted the right to use one of the ISTAT professional designations, established by ISTAT and predicated upon a set group of criteria. Within ISTAT is a core group of professional aircraft appraisers who work cooperatively for the elevation of the appraisal profession within the world aviation community. ISTAT has established rigorous testing and qualification standards for members who are engaged in appraising aircraft and support equipment. The Foundation’s most recently established internship program matches aviation-focused college students to internship positions open at ISTAT member companies. Scholarships have been presented to students on an international stage with recipients from the U.S., U.K., Turkey, The Netherlands, China, Germany, Australia, and Kenya. Grants are awarded to institutions involved in both elementary and higher education as well as to humanitarian organizations. The Foundation awards more than $250,000 in scholarships, grants and humanitarian efforts annually to worthy recipients around the world. The ISTAT Foundation fosters interest in, creates opportunities for, and provides assistance through the global aviation community by offering scholarships, grants, internships and humanitarian aid worldwide. ISTAT is governed by its bylaws and the volunteer ISTAT Board of Directors, which is composed of and elected by the members. ISTAT currently has more than 1700 members worldwide involved in operating, manufacturing, maintaining, selling, purchasing, financing, leasing, appraising, insuring or otherwise engaging in activities related to commercial transport category aircraft.
